Think AC/DC rocks? Wait till you read these blogs...

Have you ever watched that crazy TV show about flipping houses? Where people buy or build properties for less than their market value, then sell them for what seems like enough money to fund the world’s major oil companies for a decade? Did you know that many people make huge livings doing the same thing… with Web Domains?

This week’s Rockstar Blog tells you everything you’ll ever need to know, and then some. (more…)

Weekly Rockstar Blog: May 21, 2010

You know what I love about the Weekly Rockstar Blog Series? I mean besides the awesome picture of Angus Young? It’s finding all these cool, awesome blogs that I never would have found on my own.

Think AC/DC rocks? Wait till you read these blogs...

And today is certainly no exception, as I’ve rounded up a serious GEM. It’s got everything you could possibly ask for: Killer Content, Awesome Design, Valuable Free Information and, perhaps best of all, an Attractive Gal Running The Show.

(Note to my girlfriend: that last bit was a joke… Mostly.)

Also, before I launch right into it, I wanted to give yet another crazy awesome shout out to Moon from ExperimentsInPassiveIncome.com, as it was her post (read it HERE) that first acquainted me with this week’s winner. If you haven’t read her blog yet, you should. And then you should give her some awesome Backlink love like I just did, because she deserves it.

Drum roll please…

Erica.biz

Why is Erica Douglass (who runs the blog, just in case you missed the blog title reference) so darned cool? Let me count the ways:

  1. She sold her first online business for $1.1 million!… at age 26.
  2. She made nearly $4,800 through her blog alone in March, 2010.
  3. She gives away one of the best free informational PDFs I’ve seen in a long, long time.
  4. She has thousands of RSS subscribers.
  5. She has an Alexa rating of 53,693 (compared to my most recent 1.2 million).

The list could go on forever… well, at least for another couple of bullet points – I did only “meet” her about an hour ago after all.

But the point is that she has a really cool blog. It’s chalk full of great information, and it’s always nice to hear advice from someone who has actually been there; someone who is actually walking the walk, so to speak.

I’d also highly recommend downloading her free PDF “Blog Success Manifesto.” She’s got some killer ideas that I hadn’t even thought of, and I’m sure that even the most seasoned blogger could get something useful out of it.

If you don’t read any other post on Erica.biz, read this one: How To Make Money Blogging.

Then thank me later.

Weekly Rockstar Bloggers: May 14, 2010

It’s been a while, but luckily I resurrected the Weekly Rockstar Blogs Series from the nether regions of my brain, dusted it off, spit-polished its cheek and am presenting it yet once again.

Think AC/DC rocks? Wait till you read these blogs...

As some of you may remember, my whole intention of this series was to point out one “If you read no other blog post this week, make sure it’s this one” mammothly awesome post. But given my recent lax attention span to this post, I’m gonna go balls out and mention a handful.

It’s my way of trying to make everything better… I’m never any good at that, but it’s worth a try, right?

This Week’s Rockstar Bloggers

Just like the U.S. Government, there isn’t any order real order here, they’re listed as they randomly pop into my brain.

Nicks Traffic Tips

Nick has recently tried an experiment that I’m anxious to watch unfold. No, it’s not a huge cash system, it’s much more unique: He’s trying out a single-column WordPress theme on his blog. No sidebars, no widgets… it’s all either above or below the content areas. Take a look and let him know what you think. The direct link to the page is: I Need Your Opinion, Do You Like My New Blog Format.

Mike Roosa

Mike came up with an insanely clever idea, he’s giving away some freakin’ amazing prize in exchange for traffic generating tips. You should check out the discussion he’s got started AND the stuff he’s giving away. Not only is Mike giving away some killer physical products, but he’s also offering up his ghostwriting abilities – so if you’re not big into writing, this might be a great way to get some fast, easy, quality content. The direct link to the page is: I’m Giving Away The Farm.

Also, I wanted to give a major shout out to Scott Barron, as it was his most recent post, Why Didn’t I Think Of That?, that pointed out Mike’s cool post.

Bay37

Honestly, I have no idea what this guy’s (or gal’s) real name is, but I’ve been following the blog for a week or two. This person is trying to build an income of $50 per day from an army of small niche sites – and has set the deadline at 60 days. “Bay” (it’s as good as name as any, right?) is about halfway through and is already pulling down about $10 consistently through Amazon and Adsesne. Check out: The 60 Day Challenge: Days 30 & 35.

Check them out and let me know what you think!

Weekly Rockstar Blog: April 9, 2010

Ah yes, it’s the end of the week again, a magical time when I tip my hat to something really cool I found online and brand it as this week’s “Weekly Rockstar Blog.”

Think AC/DC rocks? Wait till you read these blogs...

This morning I found a freakin’ sweet blog that captured my attention in several ways: It’s well-written, it’s witty, it’s self-degrading at times, it mocks established standards, it’s got great content and it’s genuinely informative – basically it’s the girl version of SearchEngineViking.

It’s called Escaping The 9 to 5 and it’s full of great stuff, so check out the entire site.

But highly coveted (yet completely unknown) Search Engine Viking Weekly Rockstar Blog award always goes to an individual post, not an entire site, and more specifically it goes to one that was written during the week. With that in mind, you owe it to yourself to check out:

Being an Entrepreneurial Rock Star in the New Economy

It’s one of the most recent posts up at Escaping The 9 to 5 and it flat-out rocks. And not just because Maren (the blogger) speaks my language – the Dialect of ROCK! – but because it’s got some really insightful ideas and suggestions for those who are genuinely interested in succeeding in spite of the established status quot.

The way I see it, there are two ways to run any business – big or small – in today’s economic climate: Lose your shirt while screaming “It’s not my fault, it’s the economy!” or adapt your system to take advantage of it.

Every week I pass on my favorite blog post or crazy internet tip to you, hoping it’ll either motivate you, make you laugh, make you cry or make you invite me over for dinner… I threw that last one in to make sure you were still paying attention.

Think AC/DC rocks? Wait till you read these blogs...

This week I’m not highlighting a blog, but rather a post on one of the most famous Internet Marketing forums on the web: WarriorForrum.com. It features a great way to build a blogging empire for FREE. Yes, you read that right: FREE! And it shows you how to set them up in less than about 20 minutes each – then you forget about them and let them cook the Search Engines.

Set and forget. Free. Definitely worth reading. In fact, I might try my hand at doing this myself.

Once you’ve got them built, you can either monetize them and make some bucks, or use them to build backlinks to your other sites.

Here’s the link: Build A Blog Empire For Free – No Excuses!

The post was started by a John Schwartz, who makes a substantial living through Google Adsense, and wrote a killer report, 5 Tips For Increasing Your Adsense CTR, which has some original ideas (and there aren’t too many of those in the Internet Marketing industry).

Check it out and let me know what you think. In an age where everybody is selling the same-old rehashed stuff, it’s nice to know that some people are still out there offering fresh ideas for free.

Weekly Rockstar Bloggers: March 19, 2010

Welcome to the very first installment of the Search Engine Viking’s Weekly Rockstar Bloggers series.

Think AC/DC rocks? Wait till you read these blogs...

What is the Weekly Rockster Bloggers series?

Each week I’ll recap some of my favorite blog posts from other people’s blogs. The bloggers responsible for them are clearly Rockstars (hence the name) and you owe it to yourself to check them out. Actually, you also owe it to yourself to bookmark their sites, because they’re constantly discussing important topics you don’t want to miss (no porn, sorry guys).

Let me tell you, there is some GREAT stuff out there. I’m planning on eventually making this a one-link-per-week kind of deal, where I’ll pick the best of the best; but since this is my celebratory first post in this series, I’d like to highlight several I think you’ll enjoy.

Without further ado, allow me to present to you…

Rockstar Bloggers for the week ending March 19, 2010

Moon from Experiments in Passive Income is building a portfolio of money-making web properties, and explains several different strageties with: Clash of the Titans: The Pros and Cons of Various Types of Passive Income Streams.

Ryan from Planting Dollars wrote a killer psychological-therapeutic-sociological post about the relationship between career and self with: Are You Your Profession?

Tom from Build That List has a clever tip for anyone looking to buy an electronic product through ClickBank with: Never Pay Full Price On Clickbank.

Technically this isn’t a blog post, but it was one of the true highlights of my week. A Boise hard rock radio station is holding an open casting call to fill a vacant Disc Jockey position, and you can bet every penny that’s ever rolled down the crack in your couch cushions that yours truly has submitted an application. It’s here: The Xrock Casting Couch.

So get out there and check these killer posts out. You’ll be glad you did. And you’ll see why these folks won the highly-coveted (yet relatively unknown) Rockstar Blogger Award this week.

Oh, and wish me luck on the radio gig.
