DoFollow Blog List

Welcome to the Search Engine Viking DoFollow Blog List.

This list is an ongoing list of blogs that don’t use the “NoFollow” code in their comment forms, which means you can get some serious SEO/backlinking benefits simply by leaving your own comments and entering your URL into the form.

What Is “DoFollow”?

There’s an ongoing semantics debate regarding the term “DoFollow” as it relates to blogs, primarily because there is no DoFollow code, only NoFollow – hence, the lack of NoFollow tags has given rise to the term “DoFollow.”

Confused yet?

Don’t worry about it. All you need to know is this: The sites included on this list don’t use the NoFollow tags, and therefore offer a huge advantage when it comes to boosting your site’s reputation with Google. And a better reputation with Google is like a better reputation with the world’s biggest mafia kingpin – Google will take care of you, put you higher up in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs), make you happy, not let rival families fit you with cement shoes, strong-arm your enemies… maybe I’m getting too carried away with this simile.

Make This List Work For You

Building backlinks (check out What Are Backlinks? for more info) is a fundamental goal for anyone trying to dominate the Internet. In the simplest terms, the more backlinks you have from reputable sites (that are related to your site), the better.

I implore you to browse this list, find a couple of blogs that relate to your own, visit the site, READ through the posts, leave some insightful comments (with your URL entered into the form) and then visit again regularly. Worst case scenario, you get a couple of great links back to your site; best case scenario, you find a couple of gems that you really love, and become a part of their community.

There is no downside.

Please Don’t Spam

Want to make instant enemies with a blogger? Leave a bunch of “spam” comments (I’ve struggled with this myself, hence my Blog Commenting Policy). Spam sucks. Big time. Nothing is worse than sifting through hundreds of alien-language dribble pointing back to sites selling discounted Viagra, or those annoying “This blog is great, keep posting” canned responses.

If you really want to get the most mileage out of your Blog Commenting efforts, I strongly recommend you follow these simple steps:

  1. Read the entire post.
  2. Leave comments that PROVE you read the post (reference one of the blogger’s points, for example).
  3. Check back from time to time and respond to any replies to your comments.
  4. Be nice.

More Than Just Backlinks

Building backlinks is a great strategy, but it’s only one aspect of leaving comments on other people’s blogs. There are a whole crap-ton of good reasons, but instead of going into them all, I’ll just suggest you check out my post Why Blog Commenting Rocks.

Want More Links?

I know this list seems small now, but quite frankly, I didn’t have much time to put it together. That’s where you come in…

Know of a great blog that doesn’t use the “NoFollow” tags in its comment section? Let me know and I’ll include it in this list.

Maybe YOUR blog qualifies? I’ll be glad to include it here, provided it’s not an automated junk “splog” (spam + blog = splog).

I’m a follow blog too. I’m pretty sure. Then again I’m not a WordPress blog, so maybe the rules are different….

    Hmmmm.

    Sweet! Gotcha, Scott :)

And no worries about not using WordPress – while I don’t know how to program a lick of anything outside the WordPress platform, I don’t think Google gives a flying barn door about a site’s CMS.

I’d put you link on the list, but your comments appear to have the “NoFollow” tags on them. Let me know if you take them away and I’ll put you up ASAP!

Sweet! I just added it… just out of curiosity what kind of site is she building? Looks like a travel blog, but I see a newsletter tab/page at the top, leading me to believe she’s building a list. Looks like an awesome project, and I’d love to learn more about it.

    Brandon Connell Reply:

I learned from my mistake of not building my list ahead of time, so I made sure to add a newsletter to her blog from the start. She will be blogging about her interests. Some of it is vacation spots, but she will probably post some parenting stuff, and whatever pops in her head ;)

  7. Hi Lee, I run a DoFollow, CommentLuv and KeywordLuv blog with a no spam policy. I have recently added an “approve your own comment” plugin which is proving to be successful with zero spam coming in through that method.
